Some frequently asked questions about tandem skydiving
You've got questions? We've got answers! This page answers the most frequently asked questions about making a tandem jump and also provides a few insights on how to better prepare for the event.
Do I need to make a reservation?
Preferably, yes. The sooner you call, the better the availability (1 week in advance is recommended). Last-minute bookings are always possible; however we may be unable to accommodate your date and time request if we have other scheduling constraints. You will be asked to provide a credit card number to confirm your booking.
How old do I need to be?
You must be 14 years of age or older, with a signed parental consent form for all minors. This document is available on-site, or it can be faxed, e-mailed or snail-mailed over to you ahead of time if you wish – simply contact us. Teenagers between the ages of 14 and 16 must absolutely be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at the time of the activity. 16- and 17-year olds must also provide the signed parental consent form; however on site parent presence is not mandatory.

What should I wear?
Wear clothing you would normally wear for an outdoor activity: comfortable clothing in which you’ll feel at ease when you slip into the jumpsuit we’ll lend you. Go for comfortable footwear, and try and avoid shoes with hooks. Sandals not equipped with attachment points above the foot AND around the heel/ankle are not suitable.
How long is the briefing and preparation?
You’ll watch an introductory video which lasts approximately 15 minutes, and then review the overall process with your instructor.
Do I have to be in a particular physical shape or health condition?
No, an average health condition is sufficient. Your weight must not exceed 250 lbs. If you have specific health problems, you should consult your doctor and advise us.
What about the weather?
If you have doubts about the weather conditions on the day of your jump, call us before leaving home. If local weather conditions are not permitting the activity, you’ll have the option to cancel or reschedule your jump. Cancellation fees will not apply if weather conditions are at cause.
Can I be filmed or photographed during my jump?
Yes, we have a crew of professional freefall videographers on site, equipped with video-cameras and still digital cameras mounted on their helmet. Your cameraman will record footage on the ground, in the aircraft while climbing to altitude, will follow you up-close while you freefall and will also capture your landing! We’ll then edit a 10-minute video which will be handed to you along with a CD-ROM containing all your still digital photographs, usually within about 30 minutes of your landing.
When exiting the aircraft, will I get this nauseous rollercoaster-like feeling?
No, not at all. When you exit the aircraft, your fall-rate is immediately fast enough so that you won't get this uncomfortable and nauseous feeling.
Can I wear my glasses or contact lenses?
Yes. Let your instructor know you wish to wear your glasses in freefall, and he’ll ensure the protective goggles we lend you fit over your eyewear.
How much time should I plan on spending at your place?
From start to finish, the activity usually requires about 2 hours of your time.
What altitude do we jump from?
4,000 meters (13,500 feet)
What is the freefall speed?
The freefall speed is on average 200 kph (120 mph)
How long does freefall last?
50 seconds
And how long is the descent under parachute?
Anywhere between 5 and 8 minutes
Will the parachute deploy abruptly?
No, the parachute opens gradually which creates some sort of “progressive braking” effect. The transition from freefall speeds to full canopy inflation is very smooth.
And is the landing hard?
No, the landing is also very smooth. And your instructor touches the ground first.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Visa, Master Card, debit cards, cash as well as traveler’s cheques. Personal cheques are not accepted.
Do you offer gift-certificates?
Yes. Gift certificates may be purchased on-site, online, or by telephone. Their design also makes them fit nicely inside a greeting card!
